Fun fact: I learned to read as a toddler from an educational, literacy-based computer program called Reader Rabbit. This early exposure to educational multimedia content, that was both engaging and effective, piqued my interest in how multimedia can be utilized to create educational content. After I received my Master’s in Education from Howard University, I was determined to find ways to integrate educational technology and best practices of facilitating learning to create interactive, engaging, and effective learning solutions.
With a growth mindset and a determination to expand my knowledge and skill set, I pursued and earned my instructional design certification from the Applied Instructional Design Academy. AIDA is a comprehensive 9-month program that has provided me with practical application of e-learning authoring tools and adult learning theory. In my design process, I utilize both the ADDIE and SAM models to collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts, which has resulted in producing content that has increased learner engagement and performance. My expertise spans all facets of curriculum design which includes creating storyboards, job aids, and design documents. Also, I am skilled in platforms such as Articulate 360 Storyline and Rise, Camtasia, Canva, and Adobe Photoshop in order to design interactive e-learning modules and multimedia content. I continuously explore new tools, methods, and prominent voices to stay current with learning and development trends. I’ve since collaborated with SMEs in Film, Sales, and Non-Profit to develop learning solutions.
When I am not behind my desk working on my next project, I can be found doing sun salutations at my favorite yoga studio, practicing tennis, or planning my next travel adventure with friends and family.
I truly appreciate you taking the time to explore my instructional design portfolio. If you would like to learn more, I look forward to connecting! Let’s learn and create together.
